The first WordCamp Larissa is complete! It became a reality thanks to the hard work, ideas, and time that many people dedicated before, during, and after the event… Now that we’ve gathered all the necessary details, we are excited to present the WordCamp Larissa 2024 recap. Let’s get started…
We were delighted to see the event embraced by the entire community and tickets selling out. We welcomed 242 attendees from 12+ cities across Greece and abroad, while the live streaming had 216 views. On stage, 13 fantastic speakers delivered engaging talks, and we participated in 2 exceptional workshops! We’re especially thrilled that 50% of attendees were first-timers at a WordCamp, discovering the world of WordPress through WordCamp Larissa 2024! The event was supported by 13 sponsors, 11 media sponsors, and 14 amazing volunteers, with invaluable assistance from the staff and technical team at JOIST!
According to not-so-reliable data, during the event, attendees consumed 50 liters of coffee, 20 liters of tea, and 60 liters of RedBull! We can’t confirm these figures, so don’t use them in your next coffee vs. tea debate ☕🍵😅
The event concluded with the Contributor Day, where 30 participants dedicated their time to adding translations, writing learning materials, fixing bugs, and addressing community-related issues.
Financial Details
As the event is conducted with complete transparency, we present the financial details related to the event. WordCamp Larissa, like any official WordPress event, was funded by sponsors, attendee tickets, and WordCamp Central (WordPress Community Support PCB).
The organizing team of WordCamp Larissa acted purely as intermediaries for all financial transactions. Any monetary movement was routed to WordCamp Central, which handled the formal accounting management.

Based on the above, the event’s revenues exceeded its expenses, making it financially successful. According to WordCamp regulations supporting WordPress communities worldwide, the surplus of €2,340.94 from WordCamp Larissa 2024 “returns” to WordCamp Central to help fund other WordCamps or WordPress meetups.
